cell phone pictures # 3

I cleaned out

I was cleaning out my phone's memory card the other day, and I finally sat down and went and archived my pictures. Can you guess what I'll will be updating for the next couple of entries?

My mother was teaching me how to crochet. I am very bad at it, going too fast and tight, but sometimes I can get to the finish line with something solid and decent.

robotitup

My friend requested suit gangster and Halloween robot. I-I don't know why I picked the most boring examples for those themes. SO SORRY, BUTLER.

I think I'm done with robots. FOREVER???? Or for a while.

Might have been inspired by today's reading of Air Guitar by David Hickey. That or the gardening book. I don't know.

Cleaning the studio: part one

I am organizing my studio. After being absent for three months, I've forgotten where I kept some things and how much I had of other things. It's nice to be back into my own little space. I'll put up pictures as I sort things around and make it into a respectable bachelor's pad artist studio.

Photobucket

I bought a new plant for my studio. Her name is Josie and she is beautiful. When she grows a bit more I'll draw her portrait.

Ignore the two on the bottom left, they are from 2008 and -- useless. During the last school term I worked a lot with small scale spray painting. They were aquatic in theme and the use of color is inexcusable except for the fact that I keep refusing to purchase colors that aren't fluorescent or eyesores.

Photobucket

And a piece I neglected to put up when it was made. A dry point self portrait. Because I like self portraits. I made it during the beginning of the year out of plexiglass and wrist hurting patience. I like how it came out.

reverse mounting is not reverse cowgirl

My friend recently demonstrated a technique called reverse mounting. It's basically what it sounds like. You reverse the lens to create a micro view. Here are two very helpful links that will explain things in a way that I refuse to: one and two. It's very tricky because you need very good lighting conditions, but it's really fun to play with.
