Things U.R.U.

I was surprise when I could only find these in the desktop. I was sure I had more Uru things around the place, but I guess they live primarily in my sketchbook. Or I did, I deleted them. I do that a lot, sometimes, delete things and then am lost to what I did with them later on.

Block night

Reference used? Well I copied it from the tv screen, does that count, officer?

My brother rented Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist, and then I saw Juno; can you guess which picture belongs to which one? Eh.

Week 1 Report FC

A full week progress. I should probably move on to a different theme like add in backgrounds. Or not. I don't know. It's not really as fun as I thought it was going to be, but 7 days down, 21 to go. It's funny to see them laid out like this.

Thousand beards

As I grow older my friendships grow with me. Without the actual growing up.

I was defeated by the hairy dinosaur, and my friend ate it in return.

You can tell where I started to lose interest.

Parsley, Sage, Rosemary & Thyme. She once was a true love of mine.

ETA: Cleaner.

Zine-podium

I was going to be mean and write about my grand adventure yesterday in Spanish--but I'm not. Mostly because I don't feel like digging out the dictionary to make sure I'm spelling things right. Curse you silent 'h'! And s, c, x sounds! And js and gs. And, well, I should probably work on it. A lot. I should do a lot of things.

You might've noticed that I'm posting twice on one day. Well, I am. There really isn't much to say other than that.

This isn't really a blog where I write about my adventures, so I won't go into too much detail, but here are some things I picked up at the Portland Zine Symposium.

Those are only a few. The rest don't have very exciting covers.

And a picture from my sketchbook that I worked on yesterday after inspiration hit from reading all those zines!

The image one the bottom is a repeat, but I liked how they looked together, so left it as it. The marker marks on the top one don't bother me, because it's the nature of a sketchbook. I just had to put that out there. Oh my, look, a very long entry. I'm a bit proud of myself.

five pages, it's true

You know, the funny things is that it's not hard to find titles. But the added commentary is--er, well.

And there you have it.

What stories!

The titles always are more interesting.

My friends are always inspiring me.

some odd days since

It's been almost two weeks, oh my. But that's ok. Because I bring pictures to be viewed! And possibly lots of random spelling errors, but that, I feel, can be forgiven. My sketchbook is almost full, and that makes me feel hopeful. There's very little like starting a new sketchbook after filling in the other.

I am very, very, very, very fond of this drawing. It's been a while since I have been able to do what I visualize in my mind. Clearly I need to stop sleeping and draw at my most deprived state to get that niggling self cersorship to shut up. Or maybe it's something else, and maybe it was a very good morning that day. Which it was, actually. I bet she's really fierce.

I am terribly amused by this. So much. Otherwise I wouldn't be showing it. I don't have much to say about it, other than the purple lines came first, and so, free form makes me happy.

This one is a bit older than the previous two, and, a favorite as well. I'd put it on my body if believed in her more. She has a great story behind her, I can feel it. Poems and songs and bed time tales, all about her. Whoever she might be.

I am resolute to keep tight lip about this one.

algo.algo.

Done! Yay! And something non-humanoid for once, too.

The purpose of the Spring Break Challege was to assure I actually spent time drawing, and submitting. And I did! Go me. Five total challege hours, and eight extra hours. All good. And through it all my tablet has been really good to me. And now to spend the remaining part of spring break playing video games.

100+ Yeah!

Hahahah, I spent an hour drawing that. Fail. He is one of my earlier characters and I think I've drawn him a total of five times. Six with this one. Poor boy, aw. But isn't he handsome? He's such a tool, but I love him anyway. His name is Koni because...I don't know, but I've tried to rename him and it just didn't work. Blahblahblah. One drawing to go.

minus 3 [edit]

Something different from what I normally draw. I honestly have no idea.

For the sake of being chatty, the idea I had originally was to do an extreme perspective figure, with a white gleaming mask, but, no. Didn't happen. And now time to sleep.

dia dos dos dos, ai.

The picture is actually bigger than this, probably about 800x1000 pix., but I'm going to use it for something legit, and so, small version for now.

I really like this one. It reminds me of life drawing class. I can hear my instructor's voice saying, "stop doing heavy contours!" Hahahahah, ah. I don't often work in gray scale with my digital drawings, but it's somehow really relaxing. Genderless figure because I like doing genderless figures. Duality? Pffffft! Hour drawings can be frustrating when I think I finish early, because then I sit there thinking, shit, I have to do more to it, and then I forget to save and do all sorts of unchangeable things. Tsk, no patience from me. But more importantly, isn't it a cool drawing? The answer is yes, btw.

Spring Break madness

But not really.

I decided to do a quick one-hour digital doodle for each day of spring break. I've been wanting to play more with one-layer drawings since signing up for tegaki. It's easier on photshop for some reason, hahahahah. I almost finished it, too. Maybe. First twenty minutes were just me drawing and erasing and trying to find a pose. Hmmm, maybe I'll do it by color theme. Or not.

For My Friend From Afar:

Hurry it up.

She has me draw awful crap on MSPaint, and I don't even care. Because drawing with her is always the best sort of fun. Even when it hurts my ego. Ugh, look, I'm showing bad art for you.
