In a close working enviroment people bring

My teacher showed me this today in attempt to broaden my graffiti horizons. And it did; consider my mind blown, ok. Well maybe not blown. Well, no, ok, yes, a little bit blown. It was very cool is what I'm trying to say. She should be my facebook friend. I bet she links cool videos all the time. Unlike me. :<

Like, seriously.

oh am I annoyed by the English singing

My mom recently bought The Little Prince, only her version says, El Principito, because it is in Spanish. I'm reading it now line by line (and how else could one read if not word by word) to improve my Spanish literacy. It's good. I'm really enjoying it, though I can't help but think that I'm maybe not catching everything.

Poetry Wednesday

I love poetry. I love reading poetry. I love hearing poetry. I like reading poetry with my friends. I love sharing poetry. I hope you get where I'm going with this, but in case you don't click and listen to the videos for a hint.

This one is dedicated to Clara, because it's the kind she digs.

And then there is this!
Read To Me Tuesday
Which is awesome.

Time Out, Dust Out

My friend kept asking me to see this video for a game in production, and I finally caved (for once I am happy I did); I don't have a PS3, but it almost seems worth it to get it for this. And that Naruto fighting game my friend made me play with her one time, don't ask me what it is called, I have no idea.

It's part of a series, you know, with Shadow of the Colossus and Ico.

Before that someone in my twitter linked this video and it is absolutely wonderful. Or maybe only wonderful -- go watch:

Interesting, yeah? I liked the first one the best and the last one, because of their rhythm, but I also liked the second one for it's quiet. The one with the sun eating wolf felt too rushed and crammed together to me.

Peace.

I like things w/o context. Like this title.

By the end of the video I'm sitting close and saying, "oh, I see, yes, yes, good" when at first I was doubtful. Lesson is, or should be, stick to things. Unless you don't want to.

And to limit my vague talk of nonsense, I will say this: I am not toast. Not at all. But I am very mellow, and very low, and very comfortable.

Shoving culture at you

Some days you just have to take a deep breath and let it all out slowly, you know? Like, fuck it, it's cool to close your eyes and chill.

Russian animation,

I've become a big fan of Russian animation. If you feel up to it hit up youtube for more. Great stuff.

an eyelash in your eye

Drawing isn't a method of expression for me: being angry, sad, or elated doesn't change how I draw--the only thing that does is laziness, and maybe sometimes shyness. But music--music is a whole other thing.

When I was fifteen my parents got me piano lessons. One night at dinner my father ask if I would be interested in learning. I said yes. Soon after he bought me a dinky little keyboard, the most basic model, and the following Wednesday I was driven to a house, left for two hours with a very lively woman and her piano.

She taught to read music. Two hours a week I would sit on her cushy chair, practice warm ups, notes, learn right hand, left hand, chords, melodies. We'd go over the same song for weeks until I got it right.

I loved it best when she would play for me, songs with too many jumps, shifting counts, too much black on a page.

Anyway--the point of this little trip down memory lane is that for the past--two weeks or so I've been reacquainting myself with music. With playing music, writing music, listening to music. It doesn't bother me that I'll never be anything other than mediocre at it, as long as I get to play I don't mind the long practices.

I've been trying to perfect this song, actually. I'm still very bad on it, but I'll get there. Whoever this pianist is, they play smoothly.

90s animation and a few hun

Maybe I have been wordy enough lately? I like to think so. Certainly more wordy than I have in the past. Lets not make it too big of a precedent.

I love Swan Lake. I'm ok with my man Tchaikovsky. Ah, and the ballet. And don't get me started on The Dying Swan--that one makes my heart beat oh so sweetly. Oh~

I bring this up because I'm watching The Swan Princess on vhs right now, and while there are many parts of it I don't like, there are others that I do. Mostly the singing.

One day I will make an entire collection based of the jumbled version of the story. Oh, what will it be! What will it be! I'm excited about it already.

With 60% Extra Commentary!*

I was recently asked how image transfer works, and since, in truth, it is a messy and slow process (if done right!), I'm only going to provide links to other people who've already felt the need to do a how to. They are a more productive people than me, that's the truth. Enjoy and learn, and please direct your questions to the actual creators. Thank you.

-Gummypop.

I'll admit first off that I didn't actually spend the time to read all of the article. I went over the instructions, and they're pretty spot on. They offer a lot of options and images to go with the general process. Live Studio: Image Transfer Techniques . They are the most extensive, and best if you are struggling with how to start and what to do.

But if you want an easier guide to, Utrecht has what you want: Fun with Acrylic Transfers. They have a simple layout, and are to the point. And they start out with a fun project if you want to follow along.

This one is my favorite one: Acrylic / Gel Medium Transfers. It offers a history, is generally more personable, and I'm biased because they are a local artist. Solidarity, yo, solidarity.

Finally for the visual learners, here's a video. I looked at five different videos, and this one was the best. It's around nine minutes long, but please don't let that stop you, she's really wonderful at explaining the process and giving good examples.

You are welcome!
Go and do some art now, plebs.

These are undeniably awesome. And anyway, does Sunday really count? Only when it's convenient!

Same song and same video, technically, but only not at all. Go and watch!

Ideas transfers

Oops! I only have fifteen to post something, so I'm posting a video.

This is not really the place for it, says my mental filing system, but it's really damn inspiring, and why not. Have a look and agree or disagree, it's all good.

only bone and muscle

that's what hands are. And other tiny things. I'm worn out. I hope you allow me a day off.

But if not, here's a video.

When my friend has her kid, I'm going to sing this song to them. Among many others. She's one of my favorite singers. And when I miss my mother, I put her on. Although my mother wouldn't sing that song, hahahahah. Her voice is magical.
