31 days of robots nonstop! At long last I have come to a finished project. It became a challenge around the twentieth day where I was fed up with the bodies I was drawing, but since this project only required my stetchbook and a pencil, it wasn't an issue to press on and draw the damn things.
I'm not terribly fond of any of the drawings, and I don't have a plan to use them for anything at the moment. The project spawned when a friend requested a comic with a robot character. Not being sure of the design for the robot or how I would go about it, I embarked on a character study quest. I still don't have the main character, but at least I have my mini robot army as a backup. Some of the robots have stories and some of the robots are waiting for theirs to start.
What's next? I think I'll spend a luxurious week doing editorial business. Cleaning up the studio and organizing the work to come. Maybe the robot in question will grow tired of waiting and come to me.

Robot-a-day
I accidentally started my October challenge and diligently kept at it, which, a) surprised me, because this never happens and will probably never happen again, and b) made me realize what a creature of habit I am at a subconscious level. It doesn't matter how laid back and too cool I am on the outside because inside my brain is an organized machine, baby. Speaking of machines: this month's (accidental) challenge is robots.

The challenge has brought up philosophical and difficult questions like: what is a robot; what do they do; when does a robot stop being a robot; and if a robot has wheels for feet how to they climb stairs?

Yeah, I'm planning ahead
I'm going to confess something:
I don't touch my camera nearly enough.
It's true! I don't.
Any of them.
I mean I fondle them fondly from time to time and look at the world through viewfinder, but that doesn't count -- does it?
No.
Fine.
So! October Challenge time! (Oh no, let the curse be set now to lie in doom forever more, booooooh~)
Yes well.
I'm going to, hopefully, use my cameras daily and on Sundays (or Monday mornings whatever) upload the best of each day. Or the worst in case everything is mediocre.
"It's all white and grainy (somehow)!"
No. It's a post modern, contemporary, minimalist view of your parent. (Mom, Dad, legal guardian, this insult is all inclusive!)
Hahaha.
What.
So be prepared for this! Oh fine if you really want to know the reason is because my flickr super account expires in November, and I'll probably be too cheap to renew, jeez, curious reader.

Week 1 Report FC
A full week progress. I should probably move on to a different theme like add in backgrounds. Or not. I don't know. It's not really as fun as I thought it was going to be, but 7 days down, 21 to go. It's funny to see them laid out like this.

algo.algo.
Done! Yay! And something non-humanoid for once, too.

The purpose of the Spring Break Challege was to assure I actually spent time drawing, and submitting. And I did! Go me. Five total challege hours, and eight extra hours. All good. And through it all my tablet has been really good to me. And now to spend the remaining part of spring break playing video games.

100+ Yeah!

Hahahah, I spent an hour drawing that. Fail. He is one of my earlier characters and I think I've drawn him a total of five times. Six with this one. Poor boy, aw. But isn't he handsome? He's such a tool, but I love him anyway. His name is Koni because...I don't know, but I've tried to rename him and it just didn't work. Blahblahblah. One drawing to go.

minus 3 [edit]
Something different from what I normally draw. I honestly have no idea.

For the sake of being chatty, the idea I had originally was to do an extreme perspective figure, with a white gleaming mask, but, no. Didn't happen. And now time to sleep.

dia dos dos dos, ai.
The picture is actually bigger than this, probably about 800x1000 pix., but I'm going to use it for something legit, and so, small version for now.

I really like this one. It reminds me of life drawing class. I can hear my instructor's voice saying, "stop doing heavy contours!" Hahahahah, ah. I don't often work in gray scale with my digital drawings, but it's somehow really relaxing. Genderless figure because I like doing genderless figures. Duality? Pffffft! Hour drawings can be frustrating when I think I finish early, because then I sit there thinking, shit, I have to do more to it, and then I forget to save and do all sorts of unchangeable things. Tsk, no patience from me. But more importantly, isn't it a cool drawing? The answer is yes, btw.

Spring Break madness
But not really.

I decided to do a quick one-hour digital doodle for each day of spring break. I've been wanting to play more with one-layer drawings since signing up for tegaki. It's easier on photshop for some reason, hahahahah. I almost finished it, too. Maybe. First twenty minutes were just me drawing and erasing and trying to find a pose. Hmmm, maybe I'll do it by color theme. Or not.
